I'm a lifetime student of movement science and I'm passionate about inspiring and empowering you to move, feel and perform better for life, health and athletic performance. I specialize in chain reaction biomechanics, (movement) and soft tissue therapy.
I grew up close to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and I’ve led an active life since I was a kid. I have a such a passion for nature, animals and adventures. I moved to California from Hawaii in 2001. My most strenuous physical challenge was in Hawaii. I was a stroker for the Napilli’s Outrigger Canoe Club during the 42 mile International Wahine O Ke Kai race.
My lifestyle led to modeling for swim & sportswear calendars and catalogs with features in Muscle & Fitness and Oxygen magazines. My favorite things are being active in nature, traveling, adventures, dancing, skating, movies, reading and spending time with family. The craziest adventure I’ve experienced is skydiving and bungee jumping on the same day in Caines, Australia with my brother Jason. Over the years my sense of adventure grew into a passion for movement and my journey into movement science.
I'm a forever student of movement science. I've been a movement student since 2003 and started my studies in Chain Reaction Biomechanics in 2004 under world renowned physical therapists, Dr. Gary Gray and Dr. Dave Tiberio. I hold a B.S in Kinesiology from California State Fullerton and continued my education in Applied Functional Science with the Gray Institute. In 2011 I became a Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS) demonstrating competency for assessing, treating and training the chain reaction biomechanics of human movement.
My curiosity led me to understand movement internally. I’ve been studying and continue to study the significance of fascia (connective tissue) and its influence on how we move. I began my schooling in manual therapy in 2012 under world renowned movement and manual therapist, Lenny Parracino (Lenny is the soft tissue therapist for the Clippers). I’ve since broaden my manual therapy practice by studying Dr. Ida Rolf’s work and became a Board Certified Structural Integration Practitioner (soft-tissue therapy).
I've been operating my business, The Athletic Movement Club, at a private club since October 2004. I work with the members on a daily basis for movement health, joint and tissue strength. I've often addressed chronic pain, joint rehabilitation and ailments such as back pain, SI joint pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, tennis/golfers elbow, etc.
You can live your best life and be free from immobility and weakness. I’m passionate about empowering you with strategies to build resilience and adaptability for your active life and sport. I am a forever student of movement science. Movement is the elixir for life, health and athletic performance.
